WHAT TO EXPECT
As you plan your first visit, please make use of the following information to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible when you arrive. Still have questions? Check out the contact form at the bottom of the page.
WHAT ARE WORSHIP SERVICES LIKE?
Join us for either of our two identical Sunday services (9am & 11am). We encourage you to come as you are, dressed in whatever is comfortable for you. It is our hope that the environment is welcoming, friendly, and authentic. Our services are about an hour and fifteen minutes and consist of worship through music, various readings and responses, prayer, sharing communion together, and a message from the Bible. We believe that God uses the preaching of His Word to change us, meet us, and encourage us. Our normal method of preaching is what is called expository, which simply means that we preach through entire books of the Bible, verse by verse. Of course, there are times when we do topical sermons as well, but the normal pattern is faithful, expository preaching. Our music is led by a live band and includes new songs as well as modern arrangements of old songs. Whatever we sing, we always seek to celebrate the Gospel and lift high the name of Jesus.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE…
…we’ll have coffee and teas ready for you! Feel free to check out the Hub for information about Four Oaks, or our First Time Families check-in to check in your kids for class.
WHAT PROGRAMMING DO YOU OFFER FOR CHILDREN?
We offer a full kids ministry program on Sundays for Infants - Elementary. When you arrive on Sunday, look for a sign that says “First-Time Family Check-In.” At this station, we will register your children (including making note of allergies/medical conditions) using our church’s online software program called Four Oaks Connect, provide you with a pickup tag, and then escort you and your children to their classes. We value your children and want to provide them with a safe and secure environment so they can learn about Jesus. Screened and trained volunteers will care for your children and maintain strict adult-to-child ratios to help ensure their safety. A private room for nursing mothers and infants is available in the Children’s Wing across from the Kindergarten classroom.
WHAT ABOUT SACRAMENTS?
The word sacraments refers to the worship practices of communion and baptism, which are vital means of grace in the life of every Christian. At Four Oaks, we take communion every week as a part of our gathered worship service. We also regularly celebrate believer’s baptism by immersion on Sundays. Anyone who has made a genuine profession of faith and desires to walk in repentance can be baptized (Matthew 28:18-19). We would love to walk with you as you take this opportunity to announce the change that has taken place in your life and proclaim that Jesus paid the penalty for your sins.
WHAT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS?
That’s completely ok! We’d be happy to address any questions you have about the Sunday services or about the church in general. Take a moment to click the link below to fill the Contact Us form. Someone will be in touch soon.
